Heyyy SuperTeachers, let’s be real,
Grading every assignment is exhausting—and worse, it’s often a waste of time.
Why? Because grades don’t teach students how to improve—feedback does.
Shift from grading to Growth-Focused Feedback.

Instead of marking every mistake, try this:
Choose 1-2 key areas for improvement and give students specific feedback. Instead of “You need better evidence,” say, “Try adding a quote that directly supports your answer.”
Give students 5-10 minutes in class to revise. Feedback is pointless if they don’t act on it.
Use peer discussions. Have students explain their thinking to a partner before turning in their revisions.
Why this works:
Students learn to self-correct, not just accept a grade.
It reduces overwhelm—one focused revision at a time leads to real improvement.
It saves YOU time—because your energy is spent on helping students grow, not just marking up papers.
